These are curious tricks of human vision. There are several web sites
that explain how to do this. Here are a few of my experiments with this
trick of photography and graphics. You need 3-D glasses with red and cyan
lenses to see the effects.

Sci-Fi Books
A pile of sci-fi books makes an suitable still life. (Enlarge.)

was preserved. However, note that strong colors in the image can

Heels and Lingerie
Another stereo anaglyph with different subject matter. Textured
items work quite well. However, the shoes were a rather dominant
red and the color version of this fails. (Enlarge.)

Line Art Example
This simple line art example show how the red anb cyan images are
offset to give the 3-D effect when viewed through glasses. Notice
how the "zero depth" oval, where the red and cyan image
line up exactly, looks like it is at the same distance as the screen.
