Digital
Photography

I got my new camera (Canon Digital Rebel) in June 2004. I am new to both Canon cameras and auto-focus in general. Although I have an early sub-megapixel Kodak point and shoot digital, this CDR is my first good digital camera. Here are some of my initial dabblings.

Porch at Dusk

This shot was taken at dusk with the CDR kit lens (28-55mm). The shutter speed was slow (1.3 sec) and the camera was hand held, although braced as best I could against the bumper of my car, bu still there is a little shake. (Enlarge.)

Long Exposre of Bushes in Breeze

I picked up an ND8 to try some long exposures, but even in overcast daylight I get only exposures of 5-10 seconds long. Obviously, I'm going to have to get some more ND filters to do the kind of long exposures I want.. (Enlarge.)
