Cinema 4D

One of the two programs I am trying to decide between. So far I am having more luck figuring out Cinema 4D (C4D) than LightWave (LW). However, LW is supposed to be better but the interface seems to complex for me to figure out in the short time I have to make the decision between them.

Although the program is save disabled I was able to to a screen capture to the clipboard for pasting into an image application. I left the imaging window border in the file because I am not really showing this as my work because I have not (yet) bought the program.

Screen Shot

Here is a screen shot of an early dabbling with C4D. Just a floor object with "mud" material applied, a glass sphere and a point light with "atmospherics" turned on.

Screen Shot

Another variation of the above with some noise added into the atmospheric effect. If you look close between the two spheres there seem to be some render artifacts in there. Have to figure that out or brush them out with Photoshop.

Screen Shot

A spherical fractal "terrain" object given a red "electron microscope" material.

Tarnished Metal

Tarnished metal material applied to a NURBified spline object.

Caustics Experiment

Caustics is the simulaiton of light through glass and other refractive materials. Unfortunately, I must be doing something wrong since the caustics are barely noticable in this render.
